Lake Norman is North Carolina's largest man-made lake (32,510 acres) constructed
in the early 1960's.
It's pristine waters are home to seaplanes, powerboats and sailboats. Several
dockside restaurants and marinas are available to watercraft.

Long Island Airpark is situated only 30 miles north of Charlotte on the northwest
edge of Lake Norman. The Blue Ridge Mountains and senic Blue Ridge Parkway are
only a short 45-minute drive away. The Boone snow skiing area and Asheville are
both one hour away.
